Simplicity and the fewest brush strokes possible were the keys to this figure study.
I loved the idea of putting down a few strokes, only the ones needed to represent some mid-tones and shadows, in combination with a few sketchy lines. It was nerve-wracking for sure, but I let go and brushed the colour on the paper as quickly as possible so that I didn't have time to think.
How exhilarating! I've always taken my time with my acrylic paintings. I was meticulous and sometimes paintings would take months to finish. No more! I'm done with that. I adore the adrenaline rush I get from completely letting go and putting down the fewest strokes possible in the shortest amount of time possible.
I think I will be doing this more often...so much fun!!

The time has finally come...to give back to the Sheriff King Home!
I've been working toward this day for many years. In 2008, I spent 5 weeks in the Sheriff King Home with my two children. I had finally worked up the courage to leave my husband after 7 years of self-sacrifice, emotional abuse and adultery. He didn't take it well at all.
